So after some research I am considering this theather system setup: (advice wanted)

Currently newegg has free shipping on the speakers, and each speaker listed is about $30 to $70 cheaper than postings on amazon, and other sites.

Some of the better deals on things come when a product is dicontinued and they are trying to clear out the stock. There is a chance they will decrease the price further, as well as there is a chance they will seel out and they won't be for sale anymore.

Is there anything wrong with the monitor speakers? or are they just getting phased out for new better things?

My gut tells me to wait for now...The polk audio may lower in price more...if I could get them all for $500 I will jump on it, until then, I will watch for amzing deals to spring up, the 2030Ps will be my fall back option for when I get the new LCD and reciever, if I haven't found a great deal on speakers, I will get 6 2030ps and use those. Thank you for your guys help and advice.

Go give them a listen somewhere if you can. Look for an instrument store like a guitar center.

Usually they have them.

I know this thread is probably is too old to revive, as I'm sure Eternal bought his setup, but I am in the exact situation buying 3 B2030P pairs and I discovered that if you use multiple company's "price matching" email or phone services, you can talk them down $10-15 per pair off of the current $130 (with shipping price -google shopping.) I just bought 3 for a great deal from zzsounds, and I got a used yamaha rx-v663 receiver for CHEAP on ebay It seems pretty comparable to the Onkyos mentioned, and got great reviews for audio performance.

I appreciate reading advice in this thread for cheaper quality subwoofers:
"For a starting subwoofer I would at least aim for eD A2-300 or HSU STF2 or SVS PV10 depending on your budget and preferences." I'm wondering if any or all of these are modifiable, and would modding these or a Dayton 12" with bracing, sound-proofing etc achieve performance comparable to say $1000+ subs?

I'm not sure if I'll get shot down for this, but if this is for home-theater use, I would strongly recommend going 2.1 and then expand on that later on.
That way you can get a kick-arse subwoofer with some nice fronts and then concentrate on the surround sound later on... at least that's the route I would take.
This would depend. If you trust in what WmAx says; you'd have to spend about $600 for a pair of speakers that would actually be an upgrade to the 2030. When of course you can get 6x 2030's for under $400.

If not, then anything more expensive than the 2030 that you like better would be worth it. :)
