Thanks av phile for those comments. Its really frustrating to say the least that we here in the Philippines can not audition speakers like rocket, axiom and ascend acoustics because geographical restrictions. Based on the reviews that ive read, some of these speakers are highly reverred and recommended and if you will convert it to pesos (inclusive of shipment) you would even still get a reasonable price.

Don't be too swayed by those consumer reviews. I, too, read a lot on those sites like eccoustics.com. Remember that each room and each set-up have different sonic character and will sound different to different listeners. So their Axioms for instance might sound superb to them, but that's no guarantee they will sound the same to you in your set-up, or to anyone else. Speakers for me are something you'd rather not buy blind online. Too risky for me. Unless you like to take risks. Even a preponderance of oohs and aahs on those reviews are too subjective and personal to form the basis of a buy decision. Listening is the best way to make that decision on speakers. And auditioning can be fun, besides :D Just my thoughts.

Room acoustics

The speaker is something that directly interacts with your room. The same exact speaker will sound quite different in two different rooms. Read up on room acoustics. Therefore you have to hear speakers in your room. If you have room treatment that will help alot but nobody can tell what you prefer in your room but you. The difference is huge because of the way speakers act in different rooms. Read Ethan Winers articles on this site and call Ethan or Rives Audio if you have more questions.
