Perfect!

Hello again,
Got my new 244s today. Moved the old ones into the corners and put the new ones up behind the couch like I mentioned. I also put a big 2x10x8 plank of wood behind the couch because my roommates kept moving the couch back :p. Anyway, my bass problems are pretty much solved. The biggest problem I was having was the fact that my bass was greatly overpowering my upper frequencies. Especially on Soulive-Tuesday Night Squad and other Jazz/Funk, it was too much and started sounding muddy. With the 244s in the corners the bass blends quite nicely with the higher frequencies and is tight and clear. I feel like they rip a ton of power away from my speakers though....which is to be expected I guess. It was actually to the point where the auto cal on my Pioneer was saying there was an error in the front speakers and I had to turn up the gain on my amp. Granted I'm only using a single Carver TFM-6CB between the two of them because when I was using two the right channel kept cutting out (some problem with the other amp). I guess I need a bigger amp now! Emotiva LPA-1 here I come!

In any case, great product, very flexible, very effective.

Thanks,
Dave

Glad to hear it's working out. I'd place a small wager that if you did an overall SPL check before and after the level really isn't that much different. It just seems to be because it's cleaner and there's less room induced distortion that makes it seem louder.

But hey, any excuse for new equipment! ;) There's no such thing as too much CLEAN power.
