Audessey should take care of it up to a point. I imagine it would not be ideal in extreme cases. Audessey will adjust the level, EQ and speaker distance (which affects speaker phase) but I'm not sure what the limits are. If you're 4' from one surround and 6' from the other Audessey will help with that, but if you're 2' from one surround and 8' from the other I'm not sure if room correction would be enough. Maybe supply some approximate distances from the main seating position and see if others in the forum think it's ok.
