Watched the BD tonight. Decent addition to the franchise. There were some glaring plot issues IMO, but overall I felt it delivered the goods. I like the fact that it wasn't just a straight up action flick, just like Casino Royale. Quantum of Solace was almost a waste of my time, and that's why this one and Casino Royale are both in my collection and QOS is not. There was a good feel for the main characters and the story was mostly plausible, even if some of it was forced/contrived. It looked and sounded great on BD and I was never bored. It seems to set a good foundation for new films to come.

Just wanted to add that Bardem did a great job as the villain.

Oh, and as for there being no "iconic car" in this one...

I just watched it on Bluray..worth a Redbox rent. I liked it, good audio and video. The special effects gave my rear surrounds a work out. Good LFE too
I had to turn down my subs a bit so I could hear the voices.

Saw this on Amazon Instant Video yesterday (it's HD and 5.1 on Amazon, and HD in stereo on Netflix). Meh. I didn't hate it, but it left me wanting. Not wanting more of the movie, mind you. :) Just...let down. I'm glad that I didn't buy it on disc.

I finally watched this film tonight at home. I liked it. It isn't great, but I liked it. One of the things that makes this franchise better than so many films these days is that they do real stunts instead of making everything a [insert appropriate expletives here] cartoon (aka CGI). Real stunts instead of cartoons make for a better looking movie. It is good that they are not falling into the usual way of trying to cheap out and not actually do anything real and just make everything a computer animation.

It is rather ironic that a James Bond film is one of the more realistic things one can watch these days.

I agree. I love the physicality that Daniel Craig brought to the series and the direction that was taken with the latest movie. On the one hand, seeing what can be done with CGI can be amazing (Pacific Rim), but having older school movies with lots of real, on the set/location stunts really adds something to a movie that I'm not sure CGI can ever match.
