Since ditching cable, audio problem with Yamaha receiver

I recently got rid of cable and got a flat interior antenna. I have a Sony XBR-55X850B tv playing through a Yamaha RX V-679 AV receiver with L,R,C Klipsch speakers and subwoofer. Since switching to the antenna, I occasionally get sound only through the left speaker when watching broadcast tv. This happens a lot during commercials. Also, during the Academy Awards, the top song contender music performances only played through the left speaker. This does not happen at all when I’m watching streaming TV through my Roku or Apple TV. What can be causing this?

How are you getting sound to the receiver from the TV? ARC? Optical? 3.5mm to RCA?

Clean contacts at TV and AVR? The antenna of good quality? Optical cable have good working ends/clean?

Yes. It works fine when playing through through Apple TV. But I just discovered that the negative speaker wire from the AVR to the right speaker was a bit loose. Tightened it. Will see if that solved the issue. I wouldn’t have checked it though if it wasn’t for your comment, so thanks! Hopefully that was the issue.
