My TV, big Sony, has terrible sound and I don't hear all that well either. I have two Bose mini speakers I would like to attach to the TV. The TV has connections, red and black, for piping audio out.

I think I need an amplifier to boost the signal to the mini-speakers. That is all I want it to do -- nothing else. It should be real small as I have limited space in that cabinet.

BTW: I cannot hook it to our stereo.

Is there a small amplifier that meets these specs at a reasonable price?

This may be just the thing. Though you will need to find an AC adapter for it (Radioshack). Cheap and has gotten good reviews. For the price, it certainly couldn't hurt anything.

Maybe I'll stick buying the denon 1906 and adding one of those gems in between the denon and the c-5's for that extra UMPH! :D

My understanding is they don't put out a ton of power, but I've definitely heard of people using them for zone 2 and patio speakers.

That sonic impact produces a max of 15 watts per channel.
You sould definatley get more than that out of your Denon even with all channels driven.
