I currently have an Anthem 1120 receiver with a Sim 330A for my front left -right speakers. I have a total of 9 speakers , 2 Paradigm 85F's, Paradigm 55C, 6 are Paradigm ceiling speakers, and two subs. I am thinking of replacing the 1120 with an Anthem 70 AVM and am trying to figure out what amps I need. Would I be better off selling the Sim 330A and buying two Anthem 525's, or keeping the Sim and buying an Anthem 225 and a 525. If I sold the Sim I could the two Anthem 525's for system. I am leaning in this direction but my dealer insists the Sim is way better than Anthem. I am not looking to buy other brands of amps
Thanks

Both brands manufacture excellent power amps.

If I were in your shoes, I would sell the Sim amp and get two Anthem 525's to drive the 9 speakers. The Anthems are more powerful by over 2dB which is not a bad thing. Moreover, by selling the Sim, the money should cover a good portion of the cost of one Anthem 525. Also, you would have a more uniform looking display for your whole system.

That's my 0.02$

Thanks Verdinut, I hate to take a loss on the Sim but I think having two 525's makes the most sense
