The Blue Ray is out and there is no excuse to miss this now. I saw it in the theater and was out of breath by the end. Once I knew the whole story I wanted to go back and watch more carefully. Now that it's out, I did it and this is still an excellent flick. There are lots of weird things happening on Shutter Island and they all add up to something, but you won't know which ones really matter. Be sure to see it. Scorsese has done it again. Another great movie with no Oscars.

Just watched it last nigt. It was awesome and now that I know what happens, I have to watch it again.

I actually "called it" early on but wasn't sure if that was what was really happening or not.

Saw it at the theater and at home now for the second time and like other films like "Fight Club" , "The Game" ect, it seemed to play a bit better the second time. There is a lot of nuance that you just aren't going to be aware of the the first time through. The special features were helpful as well. At one point they more or less highlight some of the more subtle things that they layered in that could easily be missed even in multiple viewings. I like Di'Caprio in this as well. I think I like him in this and the "Aviator" the best. It has taken a while for me to warm up to him but he has arrived as an actor for me. I don't go "oh crap why doesn't Sorcesse work with someone else for a change."

The major thing I felt that was lacking with this movie was the score. It's possible it was intentionally "off" but I found it very distracting throughout the film.

Other than that, I enjoyed this film.

Well you know how much popcorn, candy, and soda cost at the theater right? Imagine ordering a 12oz. Porterhouse at the theater.:D
Beer = $20 a pint or what? "High End" theater = bad idea.

Yikes, that is pricey; I would choke on the movie...the most expensive place around here for a flick is the Landmark, which is on the waterfront with great sound, comfy seats and huge screen. It's $11 and you can eat at the deli a block away for under $10 per person.

yeah, its pricey. but once a year, its not a big deal. i just spent $150 for a 14th row center ticket to a KISS concert. + $40 t-shirt. 4(or more) $11 24oz beers
= $$$ well spent !!! show KICKED *** and i was ROCKIN HARD !!!!!!!!!!!!

anyway
there is a place close to that place to that is WAY more movie oriented.
we are going to check that place out soon.

I have been wondering about places like "The Alamo Draft House" in Austin I think it is? I mean how do they work that? How the heck do you see what your eating? People can't seem to shut the hell up in a theater just eating candy and popcorn I can't imagine people chomping, talking, spilling drinks in the dark?

Shutter Island is more of a psychological thriller than suspense or horror. There are no monsters, vampires or or serious action sequences. Nothing is quite what it appears to be, however, and why is the big question.

Watched this one last night. Not bad. Not a keeper IMO, but well done and held my attention for the whole 2hrs. While I wouldn't call it predictable at all, I would say that it wasn't too hard for me to figure out where it was going. I enjoyed it; psychological thriller is the best description. I'd call it a decent Halloween rental.
