Should I get a Amp for my AVR?

I'm curious where I spoke about amps improving the sound quality? Just because you don't personally believe in amps doesn't mean they aren't useful to a grand majority of other people. He asked if he should get one. I recommended he should. You recommend he shouldn't. Let him make up his own mind and not have you spew your distaste for amps on the forum and call it audiophoolery. I will always recommend someone get an amp if they are curious. I can't wait to purchase even more amps for my next theater build. Can't wait to purchase a $30k Processor to go with my $30k+ speakers! It's going to be great having a state of the art home theater!
You missed the boat again by another country mile. Buy seperates if it provides an audible benefit: ie, if the AVR is running out of power. It makes sense in that case. However, if there is no audible gain to be had, (seperates do guarentee an audible improvment over AVRs when the AVR is operating well within its power enevelope), the OP would be much further ahead with speaker/sub upgrades or acoustic room treatments.

Agree with Nathan_h and Ryanosaur. I have the exact same receiver (albeit 2 iterations behind, SR7013) and am more than satisfied with the sound quality. I did however go the separate route and pre-out to external amplification (Marantz MM8077) due to the fact that I am running 6 speakers in multi-channel at full range.

For your setup, in my opinion the Marantz SR7015 is more than sufficient to drive your speakers. You might want to consider a fan for ventilation. I had an SR6009 and it ran a bit hot.

Cheers.

I use Amps too, on my rig, to make certain that my ~85dB sensitivity Speakers can hit Dynamic Peaks. Mind, I also recognize that I am likely not using 1/10 of the Amp power available, and that for most of my listening I would be fine with my AVR alone.
I am a fan and fully support external fans on the D&M AVRs. I use the AC Infinity Aircom T-10 right now, but will switch to the rear venting T-8 soon.

When I ordered my Marantz I also ordered a AC Infinity Aircom T-10

Imo subwoofers would be 10000 times more beneficial than amps here. Not saying I’m the future they wouldn’t be nice.
But really, take care of the weakest link first. 10” Polk subs............
I did see @Toy mention new SVS soon, so to me, amp money should go directly to that.

Nice! I have two AC Infinity T10s. I have no affiliation with the company. You will like them, solid choice.

speakers/distance/freq

L/R: T15 Polk @ 13’ set to Small 80hz

Center: CS10 Polk @ 12’ set to Small 80hz

S.L/R: Fxi A4 polk @ 6’ set to Small 80hz

Subs: Pws 10 @ 12’

10awg to all speakers w/ banaplugs, all speakers leveled at 75db and subs at 80db, if it matters i installed a 20amp dedicated circuit for the AVR. (I’m a journeyman electrician)

I read Gene’s review of the SR8015 which he said that at 7 channels driven he got 100w but I’m running 9 channels on the SR7015. I’m not too concerned about the Atmos.
Your amp should power those plenty. You don’t actually need 100w rms into every speaker unless you have a massive room and want Imax sound levels . Would probably fry the voice coils too ...
Enjoy the subs , I’m stuck in parents house even when I finally get money can’t buy subs ... job hunting for years kinda gave up lately ...
My 15” sub collects dust .. in bedroom
