I was looking at some different cables, and found that most tech engineers recommend 75ohm for hi def cables. Meaning both the connector and cable rating. I was looking around and there really are not to many manufacturers that offer a "True 75 ohm" cable. Does it really matter for home A/V?

It would depend on the distance you are laking about. The cables used are 75 ohms with some +/- to it, no 75.000 that I know of. Many of the RCA connectors are an issue though. But, usually it is of no concern.

That is what I thought, but after reading several articles, I noticed most manufacturers don't give the ohm rating.

If you wanna do it right, you should try to make 75-ohm cables.
