Shifted screen trouble

I have a 42' widescreen. For whatever reason my ps2 display has decided to shift left cutting off what would be the first 1/3 of the screen and moving to the far right of the screen. Everything is hooked up to the receiver with component and the receiver is connected to the tv with component.

I trouble shooted by hooking the ps2 up to another tv and it displays fine. I also moved the ps2 component in to another prot on the receiver and the same thing happens.

Where do i go from here? Could the ps2 just not be displaying widescreen properly but on an normal TV it is fine? Is my tv selectively choosing to display ps2 different form dvd or other inputs.

On a side note i know that i can duplicate this same improper display by hooking up and running the tv off of just rabbit ears. Not in HD, just the antenna feed would only display square and shifted.

You still seem to have a lot of variables. Does it do when if you connect the PS2 directly to the TV in question? Why do you still suspect the PS2 if it doesn't exhibit this behavior on another tv? Could the monitor output be bad on your receiver? Have you tried any other widescreen/progressive scan devices connected to the same inputs that your PS2 is regularly connected to? Do you have a friend who might allow you to borrow their PS2 just to see if it still happens? That might help you narrow it down to your PS2.

Variables

TV is faulty, its getting either fixed or replaced tonight. Thank god for the equipment replacement warranty i bought. The manufacturer's warranty ran out last month on it!

If things go my way ill be going philips ambilight HDTV next....anyone wanna steer me towards another make/model for around $3000. Id love to go to 50 inches but from what ive seen the only one close to $3000 is a Zenith. Also,
it has to come from best buy if its swapped.
