Seymour Non-AT vs Carada?

Has anyone tested the Non AT version of the Seymour's Glacier White. I'm trying to decide between this screen and the Carada. With the Seymour being about $200 more.

I'd like to find out the following
Picture Quality
Build Quality (Snaps vs. straps for fixing the screen to the frame)
Quality of customer support
Likelihood company will be around for a while

Also, screen size suggestions would be appreciated. I do a bit of gaming and don;t want the sore eye effect from searching back and fourth across the screen.


Notes:

Media Room: 15x14 with seating at roughly 13 feet (Light controlled but will be viewing Football games with lights on)
Projector: Epson 6020UB on celing about 14 feet from screen
Use:2D movies mainly with 3D sprinkled in, Gaming, TV Programs (sports in particular as noted above)

I simply can't comment on the Seymour non-AT screens. I'm a big fan of Carada brilliant white screens for most home theater environments. I think they offer a great top-tier product for a mid-level price and their products have held up phenomenally well over the years. That said, Seymour has a front line leading reputation for their AT screens. I'm a bit surprised their non-AT screens aren't identically priced to Carada considering their overall reputation being so similar for delivering quality for the money. I would love to hear from someone who really has been able to compare the two directly, because I think anyone who has only seen one or the other (as in my case) is likely only going to be able to say how happy they are with what they've seen. - No vote from me, and no recommendation, just praise for what I've seen from Carada. I will likely be ordering a AT-screen from Seymour this week and will have my first experience with them.

It will be nice to get your opinion on the Seymour AT screen, this obviously indicates that you will be placing your LCR speakers behind the screen, is that right ?

I ended up installing the Seymour screen in a client's house about a month ago with some Martin Logan in-wall speakers.

The speakers were very impressive for sure.

The screen was well made. IMO, the screen build quality of Carada is a bit better than what I saw, but Carada doesn't have a AT screen, and Seymour certainly does have a high quality screen. The little O-rings they use to secure the screen are not as tight as I expected them to be. This made installation far easier, but leads me to worry about long term screen tensioning. But, once installed, the screen was certainly properly tensioned and showed no signs of being under/over tensioned, which is great.

I will definitely use Seymour again in the future, and I have no qualms whatsoever in recommending them as the place to go for AT screens.

The 110 inch screen is hung and the theater (really a media room with light control) has been up and running for a couple of weeks. My first screen had a couple of issues (one corner was cut too long and had a 4 inch dark vertical stripe in the middle) Chris and Jon of Seymour were very responsive and built a new screen and shipped it overnight to me in Minnesota. It was a snap to rehang and looks perfect.

I'm no screen expert having only seen Elite, a SI, and a couple of Stewart's in showrooms prior to this, but I get great images from my Epson 6020ub in THX mode with partial light and get nice bright images in 3D. It also has enough gain that a good image can be seen when I have more direct light and the projector is set to living room mode.

Here is my 5 star review (5 being the best)

Premium Frame: ****
-Does a great job eliminating any projection over run and was very easy to put together and hang. Study but light. This was a real highlight.

110 Inch Glacier White Non-At Screen: *** 1/2
-No artifacts, easy to hang, sturdy. This would have been 1/2 star higher if the first screen sent to me was built better and was with out flaws like the second one they sent to me.

Service and Support: *****
-This is what truly separates one screen manufacturer from another. They were very responsive via e-mail and phone, had great tips, and when an issue occurred they jumped on it by sending a brand new screen with in 48 hours. (one day to build, one day to ship)

Final: **** 1/4 stars
