setting up receiver with no remote?

I've got a harmon Kardon AVR 630 and I've got no remote for it. Now all the setup docs state that you need the remote in order to access the OSD, and no tweaking with the buttons on the unit seem to be able to give me the ability to set up the unit. Does anyone know how to set up one of these when you don't have the remote? I know that I can order one from HK US, but I want to play with it before I do so - I'm not sure if I'm going to keep it or not, but I want to at least hear how it sounds before I decide...

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but most electronics these days require the remote for some functions. I do not know about that specific model, but it is highly likely that you absolutely need a remote for some functions. Unless you have a great universal remote (many "universal" remotes will not give you full functionality), you need the original remote with most equipment.

You could try a Harmony. I bought a Denon 3805 floor model with no remote. I also bought a Harmony at the same time. Downloaded all the codes. No problem!
