setting up house-wide audio

So, I would like to describe the current set up I have and GET ADVICE ON HOW TO CREATE A SIMPLE SYSTEM, utilizing and adding on to what I currently have.

Currently: 2 outdoor speakers (on a volume dial) on my deck, 2 towers and subwoofer (directly into a 7:2 AVR) in family room, 2 in ceiling speakers (on a volume dial) in kitchen.

I plan on refinishing my basement and adding a home theater and also want speakers in several rooms, all on individual switches.

Plan: Add seperate? home theater for basement, PLUS add speakers in 3 seperate areas in the basement, each with volume dial/ switches. I want everything - the current upstairs speakers and the 3 basement areas, to all be on one wifi/ airplay controlled set up, where I can have them all on at the same time, or I can just turn on the individual volume dial in each area.. and the theater in the basement is separate (not wifi/bluetooth). How can i utilize what I have and keep costs down

My Amateur Idea: get a speaker selector amp to control all the different rooms and use current 7:2 receiver, woofer, and towers for home theater

PLEASE HELP

Hard to beat Sonus for whole house music systems. They create their own WiFi network and you can play your own music or stream directly from Spotify or Tidal.
