I'm going to be moving into a house that has a lounge room connected with kitchen and dining area. I have 2 jbl studio 180 as my main speakers and a jbl studio 1 series centre speaker and 2 studio 1 series book shelf speakers. The lounge room is set up up with one wall and other side is open and the side with the wall has a glass window and a door in the dining area. How would I place the surround sound speakers? Would it be best at the back wall where the kitchen is or on the side but one speaker will be further away or have it mounted to the ceiling?

Surrounds are ideally mounted to the sides and slightly back and above the listening position. Your room description would probably be better supported by photos.
