Room is approx. 18'x18', MLP is about 15' away from the TV. This is a living room. Cannot do towers, and subwoofer placement is limited. I'm upgrading from the craptastic Sony N7200W HTIB, and I should note that the bass that comes out of it's crappy little subwoofer does not sound bad currently, so the placement should be fine.

Budget is ~$1000.

I've picked out the following so far:
  • Receiver: Denon X1400H
  • LCR: Philharmonic AAMs
  • Surround: Polk OWM3
  • Atmos height: Polk OWM3 mounted to ceiling (I know it's a bit of a gimmick now, but my couch is close to the rear wall so I can't really do 7.1, and really want to try Atmos out)
For the subwoofer, I cannot decide between the BIC F12, the Dayton Sub-1500, or the BIC PL-200 II.

I'm not looking for things to fall off shelves, or to wake my kids up due to the walls shaking. I want bass that's cleaner rather than boomier. Unfortunately everyone seems to have a different opinion, and I really want to choose correctly.

Please - what would be the best choice for ~$200, and why?
