Hello,

I just purchased a new surround sound system from a local retailer. I wasn't looking for anything too high end or out of my means...simply a nice system that will do us well when we watch movies or I play my 360. I was aiming for a set-up that was not entry level, but not super ridiculous either. Please give me your opinions on what I purchased. I read reviews online and I haven't read much negative feedback on the items.

Yamaha rx-v765
DT pro 1000's (2)
DT procenter 1000
DT prosub 1000
Speakercraft AIM 7 Three ceiling speakers (2)

I wanted ceiling speakers over the couch instead of standing rear speakers. I don't think this will affect anything.

On a totally different note, as the sales guy was typing what I had purchased into his computer, he had thought he forgot to add something. I then realized he forgot to add the power conditioner (Furman) that I had purchased, so I told him. The price he quoted me after everything was in the computer was still about $400 or so less than what he quoted me in the speaker room. When I got home, I checked the receipt and it turns out he forgot to add the subwoofer to the final bill! Unless I was confident that it would jeopardize his job, I have no intentions of informing the retailer of the mistake. They screwed up twice on the bill so I feel it's their problem. Would you take it back and let them know?

Can't go wrong with a free sub!
Thanks!

First off did you use a card or did you pay cash? Most likely this guy is gone I don't know of any place that is going to let a $400 mistake slide,Guess he'll learn to pay attention at his next job. by the way it's not your fault enjoy the sub.

It's a decent starter setup. You probably paid closer to what the system's worth.

I would. It just depends on how much your integrity is worth to you. That's not intended to be an attack or insult of any kind, but rather a comment that might get you thinking.

If I take it back, I would expect some sort of price cut. Is this respectable to ask for?

If you bought this from a chain store do not expect anything,If this from a local retailer they might offer to give you a discounted price because of your honesty. I can see that this matter has been bothering you, so to put your mind at ease return to the store and pay for the sub don't do it for the employee, chances are he may no longer work there just do it for your own peace of mind.
