hello,
I am a new owner of an AV RX-V2500 receiver.I bought it to replace my AV RX-V795 aRDS.I also bought a 3-channel AV 100 ATOLL power amplifier(3 X 100W rms) to use it as a power amplifier. My problem is that when i have my Rx-2500 stand alone i hear louder ( about 5 db) from my loudspeakers(Acoustic Energy 209 , 6 Ohms , sens. 87 db) than having the atoll connected to the pre outs of the receiver. This doesn't happens when i use the Rx-v 795 with the Atoll. Does this have to do with the diferences on the pre out specifications of those yamaha models.
RX-V2500 :Main out = 1V/500Ω
RX-V795aRDS : Main out = 2.6V/1 .1KΩ
Can i set or increase somehow tha pre out signal in the RX-V2500?
Thank you in advance for your answer.

Yeah, I think you're on the right track. I went down this road a while ago. I have a couple old Optimus amps(250w per,in mono) that I plugged into my RX-V3300 & recognized a much improved volume & response per the receivers indicator. However, I added a B&K amp for the rears & could barely hear it at the same level. My problem was the input impedance difference in the amps. The B&K needs more signal strength from the Yammy to achieve a similar volume.

What I did was defeat my mains by 10db on the 3300 & left the rears at "0" to match the amps input signal strengths(approx.) from the receiver. Unfortunately, that is the only option for controlling the output strength for the main preouts on my 3300 (either 0 or -10db).

You could probably defeat your surrounds to match the mains (with amp) easier since there is more of a fine adjustment with the surrounds.
