Hello,

I have had a set of the Sennheiser Momentum On-Ear wired Headphone since about 2013 and loved them dearly. I think I recently might have blown out one of the speakers and am wondering if it is possible to order a replacement speaker. More importantly, does anyone know how I would figure out what type of speaker it is or where to order them from?

I'm a newbie here so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Take care!
Matt

Chances are it is the wiring. So get you multimeter out and check continuity.

I would agree with TLS, it is probably the wiring, so worth checking out first.

  • I own the momentum 4, which I bought because I thought I left my Momentum 2 on the plane
  • Fast Forward a year, found them in my basement, apparently, I put them in the retail box for some reason, I am pretty OCD with my electronics
  • I like the momentum 2 more than the 4 looks wise, I wouldn't have upgraded, but I do like the 4s now
  • They are not going to win any awards for sound quality, but do sound very good and the noise canceling for my plane travel is excellent.

Thanks for the reply! I tried that and everything was functioning perfectly. It does not appear to be the wiring.

What led to this in the first place was that I tried using them with my guitar amp but didn't see a headphone jack so plugged them into the 8 ohm combo speaker outlet, which was a rookie mistake. Perhaps I played it too loud because afterwards when I plugged them into a laptop to use them normally, the left side only works at about 25% of the right.

What makes it a bit more bizarre is when they are plugged into the amp (through a 1/4" adapter), the right side works perfectly fine. If I pull the cord out a bit, the left side works perfectly fine.

I mention this because the left speaker is capable of functioning at 100% capacity but only in a specific circumstance
