Seaton JS-12 vs SVS SB-3000 Compact Sub

The Seatons are pricey, probably the many choices of cabinets drives up the cost. Cabinet color or finish does not improve the sound.

I'd go with the SVS.

Just my opinion, there are other people on this forum with better knowledge about subs than me.

I would guess that the Seaton sub has quite a bit more Xmax, and it is more capable in deep bass, but that the SB-3000 would have an advantage in mid-bass frequencies. This is just guessing though.

Might want to check out the Seaton thread at AVS before sending any money his way.
There was an older thread involving that Seaton sub and some other larger ported subs in an in-home comparison of sorts and the Seaton impressed everyone there.

The first sub I lusted after was the Seaton Submersive but never got one, went with the cheaper similar Epik Empire instead. Mark Seaton does good work. So does SVS. I'd happily use either.
