Search for my speaker

So about a year after I started and 6 systems later I think the search is over. Thanks all for help and advise. I could write a few pages on why I picked KEF Q900s but to keep it short they are overall the best speaker I had in my house so far.
So to sum up (stuff I had at home for 1-4 months):
Pioneer - 4" 2-Way Bookshelf --- I had to start somewhere:)
Aperion Verus Forte --- Their OK I guess
Salk SongTowers --- GREAT for mellow stuff, not so much for the rest
ER0W2 --- same as SongTowers
KEF R300 --- great speaker for rock, bloated upper base, to make it sound bigger maybe?
KEF Q900 --- not as clean sounding as R300, but it's balanced perfectly

One last request for help any1 can help me to fix the cone breakup on the midrange? If I understand it right I just need to add a notch filter but I would need some step by step instructions.

Thanks all again. It's time to move on to a next hobby, bikes are next on the list, any1 knows a good spot to buy a used Harley?

Hvae you looked at any PSBs such as the Synchrony or Imagine series

PSB Imagine T2 Loudspeakers

The Q900 have better FR on HTM than the R300. So I'd figure they would sound cleaner and better or at least as good as the R300.

2.2K = [Q900 x 2] + Q600 + [Q800 x 2] = darn awesome :D

If replacing the Q800 w/ Q100 for surrounds would bring the price to $1.8K, that IMO would be the ultimate 5.0 package for under $2K.:D

Nice to see you coming to your own dicision and not being pressured into keeping speakers you didn't care for;). I get somewhat irritated by certain factions going outta their way pushing certain speakers and always making excuses to why they didn't sound right because of one thing or another. Speakers should rock with everything thrown at them... yeah...even with poorly recorded hard rock or metal.

Enjoy your KEF's for years to come...:D

Regards, Bill.....:)
