Seriously, I have no life.
I just discovered this blog by Sean Olive a well know audio researcher. Well known if one reads JAES :D

I would encourage you to bookmark this for yourselves and read through it at leisure;)
While some of his citations along with Floyd Toole's have been posted, linked and talked about, Sean goes into a bit more detail on his blog, like the voicing engineers job loss:D
Interesting research on the CR speaker testing and what CR has done after the revelation by Sean's research:D

It is just full of great info, hammering home the need for DBT for meaningful results, etc.

While trained listeners perform better, untrained listeners, us customers, do not have a different preference from them for sound quality, under DBT protocols:D

Interesting, have a good read.

Nice find! I have some reading to do.

You know, I believe that Sean Olive and Dr. Toole did the research and all, but comments on sites like this seem to contradict their conclusions so much. I suppose its all down to bias, but it sure leaves you scratching your head some days.

Thanks for reading it:D
I would have to go with what the research by these folks show, not anecdotes. :D There is a good reason why research is done; it has valid meaning, repeatable.
I'd like to see the performance of those who contradict such research in a real meaningful test, under DBT:D I bet it would follow the previous research:D
