How good are these Scosche SPL1000 boomsticks for calibrating a 5.1 surround system? Like this one. http://www.scosche.com/products/productID/582

I know they are pretty much used for measuring max db in a car stereo system but that's what I'm using right now. I'm starting to have doubts and that maybe I should be looking at something else. The readings jump around too much when I'm running my test tones off the amp and when I push the max button, well, ....... I'm just not sure.

Anyone else use one of these and how do you use it for calibrating home theater?

I don't see much to look at and it's specs : db range - 60db - 130db doesn't encourage much anticipation ether.
Just get analog RS spl meter or if you rly fancy and require top precision then get Behringer ECM8000 Mic and Behringer Xenyx 802 Mixer (Mic amp w/ phantom power) and a 15' Microphone Cable is needed.
