SBS-01 and yamaha rx-v bookshelf problem when playing classical music especially

I have a yamaha rx-v2500 and a pair of bookshelfs from SVS similar to what someone else was having.

When I play music such as Diana Krall or Madonna I hear a screech when certain instruments or played. Its kinda like this: Let's say you have no music playing and on some older systems if you wiggle the wire you would hear a faint sound.

What could cause this? I am currently using the following:

Impact Acoustics 12/2 in wall speaker a few feet(Note I took the red and black wires out of the whole white wire covered in foam).

Sonicwave 3.5mm to 2 female "rca" adapters"
Audigy 2 zs (to output the sound- it may be my computer but doubtful).

Sonicwave rca interconnects- pair

SVS SBS-01 bookshelfs.

I have stripped a small portion of the wire because I decided to save he banana plugs for later on. When certain music makes a screeching sound- like duuuun ut- like in jazz music it sounds off base and just a screech. I am sure the music itself doesn't sound like this what could be the problem. You think its the computer.

I assume the sonicwave cables which are near the speakers aren't accepting intererence to their quality.

If I ues bananas ,Can't I just stick a blue jeans banana plug into the hole of the yamaha knobs, why do I have to glue it with a hair dryer- in case it happens to be a short, in other words I have no need to turn the knob with a wrench then?

Well,

1.)You only need an inch MAXIMUM of bare wire for banans, binding posts, anything. So don't strip off a foot.

2.)Why did you remove the outer jacket?

3.)What are your room acoustics like?

4.)Analog computer jackets are VERY noisey. Try unplugging it and see what it sounds like.

Thanks for your input SHEEP.

I have like an inch of bare wire, I was referring to taking out the red/black
wire out of the foamish white jacket(those in-wall speaker cables)

2.)Why did you remove the outer jacket?
It's kinda of hard for me to cut the outer jacket off and remove the foam.
When I finally did it- it was pretty easy- but every time I needed to strip a little bit of wire to get the copper it would pull.

In other words once I strip to get a little bit of bare wire- well the other side- get's pushed in so I have to take the whole thing out

3.)What are your room acoustics like?

It's just a 2 channel in a living room. ceiling is 8 foot, small place , its not an HT yet.

4.)Analog computer jackets are VERY noisey. Try unplugging it and see what it sounds like.

True, the audigy 2 zs has a good signal to noise ratio, however with the impact acoustics sonicwave cables, Isn't that supposed to turn off the noise?

I don't get the need for using a hair dryer with the blue jeans banana plugs and THANKX! for replying, I really need advice.

Try turning down the gain on your computer/sound card.

I think you might have it, Corey! It sounds kind of like a problem I had on my old set up on my PC. Dropping the gain down about 20% solved a really irritating problem.

Lowering the volume only masks the problem but it is still there

With the Audigy 2 zs notebook - it has a good signal to noise ratio, it MAY be the problem, but I have tried out the tuner on the radio- of the yamaha reciever. The problem occurs when playing those deep note sound, such as a horn blowing in jazz music-DunnnUTT- or is it a saxohpone.

It screechs and it sounds like paprt shuffling, my connections were fine,

Should I try banana plugs- just plug it into the red/black cap I guess.

You might actually have a problem with the receiver. A friend had a Marantz receiver that had some weird feedback problem after running fine for a while. After it got warmed up, say 15-20 minutes, it would start a low rumble and would get louder and the freqency would slowly rise until it was so loud it was unbearable. If it was ignored it would continue to get louder until the speaker fuse blew, or the protection circuit would trigger a shutdown.

Where did you lower the volume, with the Yamaha's volume control, or your computer/sound card?

Can you try running the same music through a standard DVD/CD player connected to the receiver?

I have a HK 330, and noticed similar things on certain CDs - specifically Norah Jones' 2nd album, and very faintly on her first (singing hitting certain notes) - and a few other CDs as well. I noticed this when using 2-channel analog inputs, speakers set to Small and running 2.1. The sound was always in the same spot. The sound went away if I switched the speakers to Large, or used one of the surround modes. This was with both my old Infinity speakers, and my new Ascends. My new Denon 2910 player has analog multi-chan outputs, with bass management xo's at 80Hz, same as my receiver. I found that running through these inputs, even with the bass management, is clean. So it's an issue with the HK's 2-channel bass management with certain frequencies/sounds.

I don't think the yamaha might be it, not sure

Adjusting either the yamaha volume or sound card volume doesn't help. I can't seem to connect bananas to the yamaha
