Happy New Year!!!
just looking for a little feedback...
i am looking at a pair of sp-5000 speakers. Great shape and good price I think? Was thinking of hooking them up to my old 9090db...
Do they sound good?..

I recommend looking for newer speakers. Just because your receiver is "vintage," that does not mean you need to use vintage speakers with it. For the most part, companies have gotten better at making speakers, though there are some old ones that sound very good.

You do not need to confine your choice to any particular brand.

I recommend that you go out and listen to as many speakers as you can stand to listen to, of as many different types (e.g., ribbon, horn, dome, whatever) as you can find, of as many brands as possible, of all the types of music to which you listen, with music with which you are familiar (making a CDR for this is a good idea), and decide based on what you like.
