Sansui GE 770 EQ And AE 970 Int. Amp

I own both of these components. I have never thought of them as anything much more than a pretty generic amp and preamp. However, looking through the "orion" book for 2003, the sansui 970 shows that it was part of a system
but the cost of the system was $2040 in 1982-1983. Im sure it probably had a tape deck and perhaps two speakers...but still $2040 does not sound "budget" to me.....especially for 1983. Does anyone know anything
about the quality of these pieces??

I don't believe that it was considered a 'budget system'. I'm pretty sure it also included a tuner and graphic equilizer...but my memory has dimmed with age.... These pieces, in minty shape, still sell for lots o' dough.
