Was just wondering if anyone has seen it in person and what they thought of that particular model. I'm considering buying it but am hesitant until I can get some feedback from a more trustworthy source such as fellow Audioholics.

Thanks.

I just got the 61" version of that set. There's a thread in this forum titled "Talk me out of a Samung...". I've seen mostly good stuff about these sets, and my initial impression of mine (delivered today) is good.

A larger picture is more immersive, and you're not going to touch this screen size for even twice the $$ in LCD or Plasma.

I've owned the HL67A750 for about a week now, and while it's hardly enough time to give it a thorough review, I can say I'm happy. :D

Prior to this I was using an InFocus IN72 displayed on a 76" dalite high contrast (light gray) screen... so I have plenty of DLP time and wasn't concerned about buying DLP.

The HL67 is better in every way but size than my previous setup, of course, and the price per inch is great because everybody wants a TV you can hang on the wall these days.

Of course there are many opinions, and many uses for a TV, but after weighing the options for my usage (TV 50%, movies 20%, games 20%, random PS3 usage 10%) I chose to stick with DLP.

I've been using the TV without cable, in fact I'm using a set of radioshack rabbit ears (the new UHF is in my truck to be installed tonight) and in the Niagara, ON region I'm getting 11 GOOD HDTV channels, and 20 GOOD analog channels. The built in channel guide is decent, though not as good as either Rogers or Cogeco (SI or motorola) digital cable box guides. The main thing is you can see what's playing, and what's coming up on most digital channels.

Keep in mind my old projector was 480p (720x480), but larger than this TV, but I'm seeing things I've never seen before on TV. I watched the Canadians vs. NY Rangers on CBC-HD last night and I saw every little skate mark in the ice... outstanding.

Would buy again.

BTW, where in Ontario? I'm getting good TV in Grimsby but from what I've read I'm in a lucky pocket of the province that gets good reception from buffalo and from toronto.

I have owned a Samsung HL67a750 for a couple of months now. It hit the markets in August of this year. I am very pleased with this big screen. The LED backlight is exceptional and the colors are very good. There is no such thing as the rainbow effect with this set, so if someone tells you there is just laugh. This set does not use a color wheel and motin is unblurred. This set will give the LCD and Plasma owners with there smaller 50 inch screens less bragging rights, if they are honest about the comparison. In a nutshell it's not a flat panel though, and probably will not look as good in your Arizona front yard at 10:00 AM in August because of too much light.:)

I love my 67" sammy-- the pic with DishNetwork HD is incredible, and with Bluray is unbelievable! For 2 grand, you can't beat it-- I'm sure a Kuro Elite plasma would have a slightly better picture, but the price difference isn't worth it, IMHO. Go for it-- you won't be disappointed.

Depends on your needs;) A non elite kuro would even have a greatly improved pq. I agree size to dollar DLP is hard to beat.

Was setting up a 450 series Samsung plasma today, and couldn't believe that I couldn't get one of the THX contrast tests to pass. This is a test I may have taken for granted in the last years with the DLP projector before, and my DLP TV now, but the THX test with the 4 white boxes, all looked like a solid white blob. No matter what I did I couldn't get the TV to show a difference between the whites!?! I must have missed something, because I'd expect even a mid grade plasma to have better contrast than my DLP projector.

I haven't been disappointed with my HL67A750 yet! :D

I'm tuning 18 digital channels between Toronto and Buffalo, and 11 of them are HD. That's after deleting those weird religious networks and the french networks... all this with a couple $30 Channel Master 4221 knock off antennae.

Bought this set about 2 months ago and it is truly wonderful. I had a WD 62725 Mitsubishi 720p TV before and I moved it to my Family room nad am using the Samsung in my Theater Room. I have no regrets and it is truly a wonderful picture. I give it a full five stars. Good Luck. I think you will be happy with it.

It Makes my JVC 61inch DLP look small when I go home :( LOL BUT my picture quailty is as good IMO :D Anyway I think The Sammy would be a excellent choice they make great quailty stough :) I picked up a little 40inch Samsung LCD for my bedroom and its a beautiful set even when its not on, with its piano black frame and even the remote feels good in your hand .
