I just want to wish everyone here a happy and safe Memorial Day Weekend. I got up this morning and have already cleaned my grill. I also have my charcoal ready and hickory chips soaking as we speak. Just love the smell of hickory and how it flavors my steaks. Gosh, I need to stop because I am getting hungry already.:eek: Please enjoy your holiday people. Stay safe and God bless.

Cheers,

Phil

Thanks, Phil, and same to you (and everyone)!

I'm not cleaning my grill, but after years of procrastination, I bought some paint yesterday and will be painting part of my kitchen today and tomorrow. I think that I got the wrong sheen (too flat), but I'll find out today after I get a patch of wall done. I can always get a different sheen tomorrow if I want.

Thanks Adam for posting. Sounds like you have a lot to get done too. Hope the painting goes well. Heck, I have already done my laundry and getting ready to grill shortly. Trying my best to cheer my Mother up since she just recently was diagnosed with Lung Cancer. :(:( She just loves a grill burger and I plan on cleaning up her car for her. My step-dad prefers grilled hot dogs. No worries, I got them both covered. :p:p Anyways, hope your day goes well my friend. God bless.

Cheers,

Phil

Very, very sorry to hear about your Mom's diagnosis. Best of luck to her in fighting it. Cancer is tough, but it can be beat. Although easier said than done, sometimes it's best to try and focus on living the present than worrying about the future. She's still here now, and hopefully she can enjoy some of those tasty burgers.

As for painting, two things became clear to me about half an hour ago. First, the shoddy job that my friend did in patching nail holes before selling me the house. Second, how mind-numbingly unobservant I can be for eight years.

Thank you so much with your kind words. I agree in that we should focus on the here and now. My Mom is taking it well for now. Hope this continues. Regarding the nails, we all get exposed to things on a daily basis, yet there are things we don't even pay much attention to. Sometimes, they have a way of coming back and biting us. Hopefully, you will get it taken care of by doing it right the first time. Have a great day Adam.

Cheers,

Phil

I wish your mom the best Phil!

I'm celebrating Memorial Day weekend with a 7k (MWR fun run) yesterday and a 5k(remembrance) run tomorrow morning. I took Beast with me on the 7k and we were both smoked after that, we're now seeing over 115 degrees here during the day now.

USO does have Dane Cook scheduled to be here at the end of the week though, ought to be fun.

Wow Matt, that is a lot of running. You must be in tip top shape. Man, 115 degrees is smoking hot. Be careful as you don't need a heat stroke. Stay safe my friend.

Thank you so very much Nomo. Plan to enjoy the weekend myself. No, I meant clean-up my grill. Actually, I have managed to grill several times already this season. My Mom did not feel to well today but she was in great spirits. Sadly, she could not even eat an entire hamburger. :(:(

One of those rainy days here, but at least it was very nice yesterday. Hope you all are enjoying this holiday. Be sure to remember those who are serving our great country and most importantly, those who have given their lives to secure the freedoms many take for granted. A prayer would be very helpful to those serving right now as we speak. Hope all is well people. God bless.

Cheers,

Phil
