is there a site with a list of what is out there. I just got a player and I want to start building a collection.

and is one format better than the other or is it just one of those things?

one thing i noticed on the some of the DVD-A disks was there were some videos and stuff (Beck - Sea Change)

I haven't even got the player in the mail and I already own 5 hi res audio disks.

and by the way, thanks for those sites. I am going to be spending some tax money real soon. I might even buy a record player and get some vinyl

I enjoy both of them quite a bit. I would have to say that I find more "popular" music on DVD-A and more classical or jazz on SACD. So for me they each serve a purpose. Usually if the particular recording is available in both formats I pick the one that is cheaper.

You will hear some arguements that one is better than the other. I can remember back when they were releasing Pro-Logic CDs, I remember thinking to myself how great a true multichannel audio format would be. So for me I am just thrilled to hear music in either of these formats.

Enjoy your new player! :)

thanks guys. i bought STP - Core in DVD-A. There was a dolby dig mix of it on there so I listened to that while I am waiting for my SACD/DVD-A player and it was pretty cool

What are some of the "MUST HAVES" in the hi res audio world? I am not that prone to sit down and listen to classical too much, but jazz/rock/folk is more my cup o' tea

am I right to assume dark side of the moon is one to get or is the only song on there worth a damn in multi channel Money?

I own two DVD-A's. So I'm hardly an expert on the subject. Hotel Cal. by the Eagles has very good sound, I'd recommend it. The other The Game by Queen; Decent sound, so-so album in general. I bought just to own a DVD-A, and because it was the last of the "earlier" Queen albums a did not have.

i got my SACD/DVD-A player and damn, does it sound good. The only thing that sucks is the the player i got that is supposed to replace my current DVD player has a faulty component output, the damn blue one is jacked up. Hopefully the guy will let me send it back, i got it on an eBay store.

I was disapointed w/ the Nine Inch Nails SACD of the downward spiral. It sounded good but still 90% of the audio seemed to come from the fronts.

Now, Beck - Sea Change sound absolutly AWESOME. I wish more people could experience hi res audio because It is way better than i ever expected. I just hope it can get a little more popular.
