Hello yall recently decided to can my old Polk subs. And now looking for a upgrade.

The F25! May I have some constructive criticism on this if I should pull the trigger.

Cost of $1500 I'll be using it in my 7.1 DBS for Music and some high intensity movies.
But story short, would this be my best solution for the money or should I observe other options.
What kind of performance can I expect form this kind of new on the scene on examining frequency measurements.

It does seem from test reports on Audioholics and other sources that the market is awash these days with subs that have low-distortion 100db+ output at 20Hz. Like the F25. The variances seem to be features (parametric equalization, balanced inputs, displays, software, etc.), cabinet finishes, cabinet size and shape, and overall build quality. It's amazing how far the subwoofer market has come in the past five years.

I have the F15HP model, it is basically a 1-driver version of that beast.

My F15HP is a nice sub!

The F15HP has a more powerful driver and amp, it's not quite the same.
First and for most. I Would like to say thanks for all the responses.

Shady, could you elaborate which one is better?
Could one ported sub defeat two subwoofers in a sealed configuration?

This comment is leaving me kinda skeptical on my purchase.

I think that the F25 is a higher performing subwoofer, by virtue of having two drivers. The F15HP has a single driver (the DS1510) which is higher performing than the F25 drivers individually (the DS1501), but it won't outperform two of them together.

A ported sub, for example, the FV15HP, can outperform the F25 at its tuning point, but probably not above 40 Hz or under 12 Hz, so the FV15HP gives you an advantage in a narrow band, but an important bad for movies although not so much for music. If this sub is for music alone, and the music you listen to is regular acoustic recordings (ie not the forms of electronic or organ music which actually dig very deep), a sealed sub like the F25 should do fine.
