Ive noticed on my 2600 when i turn the interlacer/deinterlacer feature on it turns on for all imputs including the hdmi imputs.

It makes my svid source look better and make both of my hdmi sources look worse. it makes some things look like you can see the interlacing.
Obviously i turned it off. I did note however on some DVD's, Specifically finding nemo looked better. I see that dvd 3 times a day every day because my son watches it constantly so i notice changes in it alot more.

All of the video options are the same. when you turn it on its turned on for everything.

i think it would make more sence for the digital imputs to have a seperate configuration from the analog imputs.

other than that this reciever is great.

Good to know. Hopefully, Yamaha will change this for future models so that it can be on for some sources but not all.

Keep in mind that this won't be an issue when using an upconverting or progressive scan DVD player since it won't put out interlaced signal (480p/720p). You can't deinterlace a progressive signal.

I am using an oppo set to upconvert to 720p

when the inter/deinterlace option is turned on in the 2600 picture quality is degraded enough anyone can notice a before and after comparison

I did notice some improvment on my standard def dish recievers image quality but it was very minor.

the HD recievers image quality is also hurt bu haveing the inter/deinterlacer turned on.

Its still an awsome reciever. Nothing is perfect.
