i've enjoyed my yamaha rxv-1000 for three years now. the machine has met and in fact surpassed my moderate audio needs. the inclusion of a universal sacd and dvd-a player has also opened new sonic vistas to me. i find the various postings concerning the rxv 2400 very intriguing. is it time for a new receiver?

The RXV-1000 was a great receiver in its days and you should only think of upgrading if you are looking for newer formats like DLP-IIx etc. otherwise stick to the RXV-1000 and look for a Yamaha MX-1 or MX-1000 amp for your main channel and enjoy your system.
