A bit of a noob but have a few questions about this reciever that I could not figure out
A: I understand from Gene's review that Pure Direct doesn't send signal to the sub (well, I've never been able to get pure direct to do much other than dim the display LOL) but in 2 channel Stereo I can't find a way to get THAT to push to the sub either(Is there a menu I'm missing?
B: When I use the learn feature of the remote I can no longer control the reciever WITH the remote (sure if I set it back to factory it works fine)The learned features work perfectly on every other device. I'm sure this is something simple I'm missing, but I could not figure it out.
C: I understand that this unit does upconversion, but NOT DVD upconversion. My HD Monitor only has Component ins. So here's the question, if I send (via ilink from a denon5900 or pioneer 59avi) which upconverts the signal will the rx-z9 then take that signal and pass it via component?? (I'm guessing no, because it's dig./analog and this would bypass what hdmi is trying to do :| saves me from buying a new monitor tho.
