Hi all,
Just completed my DIY full HT system, and I've run into a bit of a problem with my 757...
Setup :
757 -> front preouts to Behringer mixer (for my keyboards) -> Behringer Ultracurve DEQ2496 - > Behringer CX-3400 active crossover -> Yamaha PC4800N for mains, behringer EP2500 for subs. I prefer having more control over subs this way, because I enjoy crossing them over higher (I have two, at the front).
So - I had setup everything and adjusted my levels. I got a bit suspicious, as I needed to raise the center and satellite levels to the max, and the mains to almost nothing. (This doesn't surprise me for the center, as it's a 4-ohm and I know the 757 is not rated to power it - I plan on getting a separate amp for it - but for the satellites...?)
The problem was, only the L and R lights were lit up in the receiver's display. It didn't seem to recognize the center or satellites. I don't expect it to recognize the sub (I have it setup to send LFE info to the fronts), but it should see satellites, at least...?
I then thought it might need the auto setup, and I ran it, and it gave me roughly the same results (huge level imbalance, L and R only). When I play a movie, there is some sound coming out of the center and satellites, but I can't help but to feel something's amiss, esp. with the satellites...
BTW, said lights in the display do light up in the auto test.
Any bright ideas? If it matters, I use an LG DVD player connected via Toslink.
Thanks!
