Does anyone know what the volume ranges are on the yamaha rx-v750 and rx-v1500? -80db to +??db - I blew up a brand new rx-v750 turning it too loud and I don't want to do the same to the rx-v1500 that is coming to replace it, however I do like my metal loud :)

What did you turn it up to?

I regularly turn my 2400 up to -5 and it is deafening...no blow up tho

I believe it was between -10 and 0 somewhere, I know the day before I turned to the + section a little. I think maybe that receiver had a weak component and she blew heheh. I was just curious where the top of the scale is, doesn't specify in the owner's manual anywhere.

The 1500 goes to +13db. I only know this by turing it up with no input. As of yet the farthest I've pushed it is -5db. That was only when my mother across town wanted to here it. Are you listening to this thing in a gymnasium?

I like to put on 5.1 concerts such as Judas Priest Live In London or Ozzy Live At Budokan and play it real loud and get my guitar out (120W 2-12 Crate amp and Toneworks 1500AX effects) and jam along with it. I only have Bose 301s for mains and Advent MARBLs for surround and a JBL E250P 250W powered sub. Maybe I didn't have enough 'load'. I intend to get JBL E100s for mains, EC35 for a center and Electro-Voice SL6.2M for surround and surround back but going to have to get them as I can afford...
