RX-V2600: Is there a loss in video quality using the upconversion to HDMI?

I have a Yamaha RX-V2600 and was wondering from other owners of this amp or anyone who can help.....

Is there a loss of video quality upconverting component to HDMI through the receiver from my satellite to my TV as opposed to a direct connection from my satellite to the TV using component cables?

What about HDMI in to HDMI out?

Please let me know before I go out and by another HDMI cable ....

yes there is. i'm running the yammy with a brand new pioneer 4306 and i lost video quality. i have since reverted to components back to the TV.
