Runco International recently introduced the
Video Xtreme VX-2c Projection System. The VX-2c is the first high definition imaging technology to deliver a native 16:9, 3-chip picture to a variety of home theater environments. Packaged with the new, Next Generation ViVix II DHD Digital Controller, the VX-2c package is priced at around $39,995 (MSRP.) While not geared towards the "mere mortal" home theater market, we love to follow new arrivals to the high-end market so that we may gauge the "trickle-down" effect of these technologies to your living rooms.
The VX-2c system features some excellent technologies, including:

- Native 1280 x 720 pixel resolution
- DLP HD-2 technology
- All-new Digital High Definition (DHD) Video Controller, which provides image processing, scaling and aspect ratio control, plus expansive connectivity to guarantee future compatibility
- 8 inputs and field-upgradeable software for downloading new features on the job (DHD)
- 12V DC trigger signals for 3rd party components (motorized drapes)
- IR and RS-232C compatibility plus RJ11 port
Runco has done a thorough job on this
latest product which looks to be another home run in terms of flexibility, quality and feature set.
