Hi everyone — hope this is the right place for a post like this. We’re hosting a private RSVP-only listening session in Sacramento on the evening of Thursday, June 19.

No fee, but confirmed RSVP is required to keep this a small group. This is the first of our new “Vibe Check” series — each night is limited to a handful of attendees, with a focus on immersive sound and serious gear. No distractions, just music.

Updating with our featured brands in response to a question below: McIntosh, Klipsch, Sonus faber, Marantz, Yamaha, and REL Acoustics.

June's session features 80's vinyl. If you’re nearby and interested, details are here:

Don't live in the area any longer, but what particularly good room and hardware would one be experiencing? It's vinyl nite and you're posting in a subgroup of the home theater hardware hangout....

My apologies if this isn't the appropriate space. Just attempting to follow the rules. :)

We're still curating our playlist, but are focusing on iconic '80s tracks that hold up on a revealing system, from Prince to Van Halen. For gear, we’ll be running Klipsch, McIntosh, Marantz, and more. The room itself is our sound room at Republic Elite in Sacramento — acoustically treated, tuned for two-channel, and built to let the gear breathe.

This is a new series for us, so maybe you can join us another time!

Thanks for the clarification, but was more curious what tt/arm/cartridge would be used on a vinyl night. Revealing of what?

Totally fair — here’s what’s brewing so far: (1) McIntosh MT-5 turntable with factory tonearm with an Sumiko moving magnet Amethyst cartridge and (2) Marantz TT-15S1 turntable with factory tonearm with an Clearaudio moving magnet Virtuoso cartridge.
