I love my Def Tech studio monitor speakers, you can read my review on here but I have a fascination as most do in this hobby with a lot of brands.
I have been fascinated with these very expensive brands lately. The Elacs designed by Andrew Jones but more RSL speakers which are really, really inexpensive.
Has anyone heard or own the GG4 speakers from RSL? Could you give a quick review or say anything you want about them? For 500 bucks I'm just curious at what quality sound you get for movies and music?
How would something like that compare to my Def Tech SM65 or 55s for that matter. I have only read incredible things about them.

I am sure they will sound just fine, but that will likely be a lateral move from your Deftech speakers. A lot of the hype you have read is from people who upgraded from home-theater-in-a-box systems, and most sensibly designed speakers will sound like a revelation coming from the dinky satellite speakers in HTiB sets. The same goes for Elac speakers, I have heard them, they sound fine, but they would be more of a lateral move for you than a tangible upgrade. If you really want to take the next step up, you will have to save your pennies for something that costs considerably more than $500.

Thanks for the info and that's makes sense. Maybe I'll put together a really small inexpensive system in our bedroom with RSL.
I do love my system now. The SM65 mains and center creates an enormous sound stage. It's really bigger than you'd expect from bookshelf speakers but really the SM 65s are bookshelf speakers on steroids.
