Rotel 980 BX Vs Emotiva UPA 500

Good day fellas, hope everyone is doing good. I took my Lexicon Mc-12 Which drives my Klipsch Rp-280 with Emotiva Upa 500 to repairs. I spotted a Rotel 980Bx with it's tuner Preamp and the guy told me it sounds amazing but didn't have speakers for demo. He said if I'm interested, he will let go for $350.
Can the Rotel 980bx with it's Preamp outshine the Emotiva Upa 500 with Lexicon Mc-12 on 2 channel Stereo?
I will be going back to pick the Lex on Friday and any advice will be appreciated. Have a good weekend

I seriously doubt it.

The Klipsch are not power hungry. The UPA 500 should be enough. The minor drop in power by switching to the Rotel will not be audible.

Maybe if the repairs to the Lexicon cost more it might be an idea. Otherwise keep what you have, more of the same in any case.
