I recently ordered a sub and built my own acoustic panels. The sub hasn't come in yet. I placed the two big ones on the wall behind the couch. And the other two are going to go next to the door in front of the yellow lounger and where the bookshelf is now. I am also getting a rug. I have klipsch rf-63 and ever sinced I moved they have sounded much brighter than before. I think its because of the hardwood flooring and bare walls. After hanging the two in the back I already can hear a big difference. They're definitely helping. Does the placement on the other two seem right? Any other suggestions to tame the room?

I would move them around the room till you find "The Sweet Spot" as it were. That is my advice.:)

If you place them at the first reflection points it should help, to find first reflection take a mirror and run it down your wall and when you can see the speaker in mirror you place panel there. I have panles at reflections, corner treatments (which I would get if I were you) and for now I have matching fleece blankets on rear wall 'till I can afford more panels. This is my idea for you to try and others will have their own opinions so you should get good advice all around, audiogon.com has good advice to check out so between this and that site there is a wealth of knowledge to explore.
