Hello there. I've gained a lot of good advice form this site. Great folks...

And I've finally pulled the trigger on some equipment. But I need help with choosing a receiver to match. My thought is that I will have this baby a while (longer than I expect to have my projector anyway) and so I don't mind paying up a bit for the right model.

To date I've purchased the SV Sound SBS 100 with the PB10-NSD sub. My plans are for movies 50% and sports 49%....and so I thought this was a good system to go with.

Any reccomendations on which way to go for a receiver. A buddy told me to go with Denon but I respect the input I get here.

A DVD player rec would be appreciated as well.

Thanks as always

A winner in that I am a loser or ps3 stands for play station? And if it does stand for that, why do I want to buy it?
I said "We have a winner" because you got the right answer to your own question.

The Play Station 3 is also a Blu-Ray player.

Thanks pal.
So now here come the next dumb Q. It's a 2 part dumb asser:

1- why would a video game have a blue ray dvd in it?
2- Could it really perform as well as a dedicated blue ray dvd player?

thanks homes

The only dumb question is the question that doesn't get asked.

I don't have a PS3, but from what I've read it is an awesome machine.

1. More storage for games
2. It doesn't perform as well as a dedicated BD player. It performs better that most dedicated BD players. Unless you want to spend over $1000 for a Denon or Pioneer Elite.

You can get the PS3 40gb for $300 after a $100 refund using the SonyStyle Card on your very 1st purchase! ($400 for the 80GB if you want backwards compatibility w/ PS2 games)
OR, if you plan to buy a Sony HDTV, then you can use your SonyStyle Card to use points on it for a FREE PS3!

I got the 40gb PS3 mainly for Blu-Rayand SD DVD movie watching.
Its such a bargain compared to other Blu-ray players.
And to date, its the best BR Player!
