The ring is IoS for the same reasons - see linked YT on what Amazon could easily do with the smallest misunderstanding and wrong report. I don't mean it's running Apple's phone proprietary OS (Iphone O S), but strongly belongs to the Internet of Poop category (swap poop with another less family-friendly word that starts with the letter S). Google has a long-established history of killing their products with little notification and even less path forward in most cases. I won't trust my home security system to company like that.
