That turntable is revolving at the wrong speed! It's way too fast for 33 rpm and too slow for a 78 record. I figure that it was using a hysteresis sync motor plugged into a 50 Hz AC line. At 60 Hz, it probably would have revolved at the right 78 rpm. Just my guess, of course.
