Yes there are differences, and I generally prefer stuff made by regal.

Most good splitters will have the amount of attenuation for each leg labeled and the back will be sealed with a gasket or another acceptable material.

Cheap ones don’t state the amount of attenuation and have backs that are cheaply glued on.

Also depending on the application, you need to know if the splitter is bi-directional, which come into play if one of the legs is going to feed a modem or on-demand capable cable box.
