I agree. Looks less crowded. It should sound a lot better too!!!!

Did you notice any difference in sound quality after removing that behemoth?

I honestly haven't had much time to do any critical listening. But I was playing Rock Band over the weekend, and I noticed a couple of things:

#1 - The volume seemed quite a bit louder than before for some reason. I'm not really sure why that would be.

#2 - While playing Pinball Wizard, by The Who, I noticed that the bass line in that song sounded very "slappy". It's kind of hard to describe. But it made me check my crossover setting, (verified that it was still at 60Hz), because it was a weird sound. I thought that maybe my towers were playing full range and bottoming out or something. Admittedly, I'm not very familiar with this song, so maybe that's the way the bass is supposed to sound. Regardless, it didn't sound that way before.

Nice new look!

Very nice new look, but aren't you afraid of security now since the swords no longer guard the TV :D

Just speaking in generalizations, when you move obstacles away from your speakers like large entertainment centers, you usually get a cleaner bass sound that interferes less with the rest of the frequency range. It may sound odd at first, but what a person gets used to listening too has just as much effect on the experience as does proper placement and calibration.
