Let’s me start by saying I’m pretty new at this stuff so bear with me.....

I’m wanting to revamp my living room with a new sound system and im looking for solid, not crazy expensive, recommendations. This is my first post on the forum so I appreciate any help. Currently I have a ragtag pairing of an old Yamaha receiver with two Eosone RSF600 floor speakers (old school but phenomenal condition). Getting the below questions answered will more than help me get started.

1. Im planning on keeping my Eosones but updating my receiver. I want a Bluetooth speaker that is Alexa compatiable that can help support some new surround sound equipment. My current speakers are 125w output. Good starting recommendations?

2. As mentioned I want to get some surround sound speakers. Since my new receiver will most likely be Bluetooth, do you recommend getting wireless surround sound speakers or should I stick to wired since my floor standers are wired? What are some solid, moderately priced wired or wireless surround sound speakers?

3. Since I have floor standers do I need a center/front speaker or will my Eosones be sufficient? I’d prefer not getting one but if it makes a big difference I’ll consider it

Thanks for any input!!!

There are a lot of AVRs that have bluetooth connectivity that are compatible with Alexa, like this Yamaha. Any of the mid to upper tier Yamaha, Denon, and Marantz receivers can do that. Onkyo as well.

As for a center channel, they can be advantageous, especially when listening at off axis angles where you are not equidistant between the speakers. If you only ever listen in the sweet spot though, you might be able to get by without a center speaker without noticing much difference.

As for surround speakers, you might as well get wired ones. Even bluetooth speakers have to be plugged in, so they need to be wired one way or the other. If you don't need anything fancy, just get some Polk T15s. They have a keyhole mount on the back and are intended to be wall-mounted at a higher position than level with listening position, which is good for a surround speaker.

it's not 125w output. 125w power rating means you could feed these speakers 125w from the amp and LIKELY not permanently damage them
Eosones seems to be a 90's Polk made a budget brand, possibly to be sold directly by BestBuy.

They were, IIRC the floorstanding ones had powered woofers, most of which have had amp failure.
