Replacing Energy towers with what bookshelves

That was round 1.
I found another Hi-fi store about a 50 minute drive from me that carries Era Design, PSB, and not sure what else.
I'm just now looking into the Pinnacles. They look fantastic.
I was still hoping for reccomendations on companies that pay for return shipping with an in-home trial for more listening.

I'm really looking forward to your comments. Some of the speakers on your list were on my list when I was shopping but I couldn't find a place to hear them. I've had the chance to listen to the Energy RC-10 a couple of times, but they didn't quite meet the expectations I had for them, especially for the price. I still haven't heard the PSB which was very high on my list. I'm very interested in your comparison of the PSB to the Era if this shop will do a side-by-side demo for you.

Depends which PSB's

I've auditioned speakers in the Image lineup(b-25 & t-45's) and if you didn't think the Energy RC's measured up to the ERA's then I can't see them either. I will say one thing the PSB Image line is very good BUT they are a step below the Energy RC line up IMO.

FWIW, I auditioned almost every $1200 and under speaker I could find. Including Totem, PSB, Era, B&W's, Quad, Energy RC's, Triangle, Axiom, Paradigm, Ascend, NHT, JM Labs, Monitor Audio and a whole bunch more. For me, the Era's were the best I heard.

Good to know. I have yet gotten a chance to get over there. It is a farther drive than I anticipated.

How much of a difference is there between their bookshelves - IYO?
