I'm attempting to replace the speaker in an outdoor rock speaker... if it's cost effective of course..

The only markings on the original speaker indicates it's 6ohms, 25W

outside frame diameter is 8.25 in.
speaker diameter is 7 in.
Frame has 8 mounting holes...

So, am I looking for an 8" speaker or 7" speaker..
6 ohms seem to be difficult to find.. can I go with 4 or 8 ohms ?
OR
just scrap it and buy a new pair of outdoor rock speakers

Any help would be appreciated

Use 8 ohm, anything that fits otherwise. The most important thing is to make sure the speaker is outdoor rated, most are not. I would look at marine speakers from boat outfitters.
